| It seems like March came in like a lion and out like a cheetah! (Where did the month go?) With April bearing down on us, it’s time to get our closets ready for spring. But where to begin? Here’s a quick primer on the color palates of the season.

Metallic  This palate is easy to work into a professional wardrobe. If you’re thinking about picking up a spring suit, look for one with metallic threads woven through it, like gold in camel or gunmetal in navy. Keep it subtle for day, but feel free to live it up on nights and weekends.

Vivid  A wash of synthetic primaries flooded the runways- think lime, papaya and Caribbean blue. Add them to your work wardrobe via accessories. A bright shoe or scarf against a dark suit will really pop. Or, wear a stack of enamel bracelets to everything from suits to jeans.

Graphic  From abstract florals to geometrics, black-and-white prints are back, but so are color-and-white prints. Look for lady like silhouettes in skirts and dresses and add small doses of color to keep the style fresh. Try a patterned blouse under your jacket for work or a patterned purse to put a little spring in your outfit.
