Global Safari

With the vernal equinox a week away, weather or not, it’s time for spring fashion. Global influences blend with safari chic for one of the easiest trends of the season. It’s easy to incorporate into what you already have and is a classic of spring fashion. (Translation: buy well this year and you’re set for next year.) As an added bonus, the muted colors and light weight fabrics work well in October when we get our second summer.

There is something so Lauren Hutton circa 1974 about a safari jacket. It’s rugged and glamorous with plenty of pockets. Keep the color palate grounded with non-muddy earth tones like off white, camel, rust and olive.

Natural materials are the cornerstone of this look and an easy way to update your current wardrobe. Pull in a little earthiness with unfinished stones, horn or wood. The addition of metal makes this bangle a little more polished.

What safari would be complete without a little wild life? You can tote library books, work files, bouquets of baguettes or anything else with this functional dose of style.
