Travel in Style

“It is wise not to seek a secret; and honest, not to reveal one.”
William Penn, 1644 – 1718

In this ‘age of information,’ too much information has become the norm. People divulge all sorts of personal confidences on talk shows and cell phones. And now, thanks to airport security and Ziploc, our beauty secrets are no longer secrets. While we might have to say good bye to the privacy and chic-ness of Dopp kits and train cases, we can rally around stylish travel containers.

Peepshow
iCase Contact Case Keep your peepers in a pretty case. A trip to any decent drugstore will yield so many options, you could match the case to your outfit. Not that I would do that, but I am a fan of filling a bunch of contact cases with solution instead of schlepping around bottle of cleaner. Seeing well has never looked so good!

Contained
Pitotube Airless Bottles Say bon voyage to boring bottles. Why use the dullsville white-ish ones when you can use Bond-girl sleek ones? These hi-tech airless bottles are the best bet for keeping your shampoo off your toothpaste. Plus, the mini-sizes turn routine grooming exercises into Alice in Wonderland adventures.

Safe Scent
Perfume Atomizer I once had a bottle of perfume break in my suitcase. A friend once tried to bring Philly cheese steaks back from Pennsylvania, but the airline lost her luggage for 3 months. It’s a toss up as to which bag smelled worse. So, put your perfume in a travel safe atomizer and put the cheese steaks in your carry on. (And call me when it’s lunchtime!)

Treat Yourself

Mint Main - 3 years ago - Kathryn Lovell

“A good holiday is one spent among people whose notions of time are vaguer than yours.”
John B. Priestly, 1894 – 1984

‘Tis better to give than to receive, right? Well…sometimes, maybe. Receiving is pretty darn good though. And really, who knows better how nice you’ve been all year than you? But, with the holiday strain on your bank account, you often forget to reward yourself for a job, and a year, well done. Here are my top three under $20 ways to show a little self love.

Tootsies
Old Navy Flats Shopping lines, buffet lines, & post office lines take a toll on your tootsies. So give ‘em a break with a pair of cushy flats.

Jewels
Tivoli Ring From luggage to shopping bags, everything is more fun to carry when you’re wearing a big, sparkly ring. The tackier the better- it’s for your entertainment, remember?

Warmth
American Eagle Better World Scarf Being cold is no fun. Keep the chills at bay with a cozy, cuddly scarf. This one looks good and does good- proceeds benefit various charities.
